How Deep The Father's Love For Us

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

More voting!

If you are on Facebook we are competing in another voting challenge.  This one is by Chase and is for $20,000.  The top 200 vote getters will win money.  We currently need approximately 200 more votes to reach 200th place.  It's super easy- just like the app, vote, and you're done!

Open House

After spending all day yesterday cleaning the cottage, putting in signs, etc. we were ready for our Open House today.  We had a great group of people show to be a part of the day.  We dedicated the 3 buildings- Davison Bruce Home (the first duplex), Dearman Cottage (the first cottage), and Nick's Grocery (our commissary)- and then each were open for people to tour.  You can't really see from the picture below but the brick walkway leading up to the cottage is done with engraved bricks from some of our donors.

Big Check!

At 10am today we had our Pepsi Check Presentation.  Pepsi came out, along with the media and the mayor, to present to us a check for $250,000.  In reality, we had already received and spent most of the money but it was a great opportunity to show the community our campus.  This weekend we have our open house and dedication so we'll have another chance to show off all that has been going on.

Tonight Michael and I have our Child and Infant CPR class.  One step closer in our training to serving kids!

Getting closer...

Furniture was delivered today!  We've now got couches and bedroom sets!

We love volunteers!

On Friday, June 11th, Deloitte had a company wide volunteer day.  One of the sites was Homes of Hope.  Here we are at the beginning of the day with the employees that chose our site.  They work extremely hard cleaning and landscaping.  It was really hot and, after it rained, really muggy but they kept working and got everything done.  By the end of the day we were all super dirty and super tired but with a great looking flower bed to show for the efforts!
